"Archives of Emigration. Studies – Essays – Documents" is the only academic journal in Poland devoted primarily to history and culture of Polish emigration in the 19th and 20th century and the relation between Polish emigration and political emigration from other countries of Central and Eastern Europe. The journal focuses also on the migration processes taking place all over the world in the 20th and 21st century and their cultural context. "Archives of Emigration" publishes academic articles, essays, and critically edited archival materials and documents, as well as reviews and biographical and memorial sketches.

Call for papers
The editorial board of "Archiwum Emigracji" ("Archives of Emigration") and thematic editors of the newest issue – Marcin Wołk, Agata Domachowska and Joanna Antoniak – would like to invite contributors to submit articles for the issue entitled Comparing e/migrations: Tradition – (Post)memory – Translingualism/Porównując e/migracje: tradycja – (post)pamięć – translingwalizm. Scholars from different disciplines – literary and culture studies, sociology, political science, history, and others – interested in the notion of migration and its representations in culture are encouraged to focus in their articles on the following topics:
- The history and tradition of e/migrations;
- Post/memory of e/migrations, of the first, second and third generations of migrants;
- The representation of diasporas and diasporic identities today; gender and sexuality in the context of migration and diasporic experience;
- The problem of translingualism as a challenge to national (literary) canon formation;
- Cosmopolitanism, global citizenship, statelessness and expatriatism;
- Migrations hubs and non-places as cultural intersections on travel routes;
- Capitalist expansion, labour migrations (both forced and voluntary) and the post/colonial condition;
- Migration genres and artistic manifestations;
- Travelling theories and theorists;
- Nature and landscape, climate migration, environmental refugees;
- Migrations and violence (changing borders, wars, population transfers or resettlements, deportation, and ethnic cleansing).
Article proposals with short abstracts should be sent to agata.domachowska11@gmail.com by 15 December 2019. Original articles in Polish or English – no longer than 40 000 characters or 8 000 words – should be submitted by 31 January 2020. The publication is planned for the second part of 2020.
